Dutch grew up in the Hardwick District of Kings County and attended Hanford High School. Using a bamboo pole he was the first Pole Vaulter in history to break the 15 foot barrier. Dutch was named by the New York Times as the Athlete of the first half of the 20th Century. Dutch held the World Record for 17 years. In January, 2000 Dutch was named The Vaulter of the Century. |

Thursday , JULY 23th– 3:00 p.m. Press Conference – Dog House Grill Please be on time or WILL NOT COMPETE
Thursday , July 23th– 3:45 p.m. General Meeting for Athletes and Coaches. Entry fee for development and high school athletes is payable at this time. $40.00. Make checks to NAPVA….
Thursday, JULY 23th – 8:00 p.m. Bowling Tournament at Rodeo Lanes in Clovis. Cost $12 per person.
Friday- JULY 24th – 5:00-9:00 a.m. selected athletes on ABC, NBC, Fox Television.
Friday – JULY 24th – 4:45 p.m.-9:15 p.m. NAPVA Championships in Old Town Clovis.
Friday – JULY 24th – 10:00 p.m. Bar-B-Que and Awards at Dog House Grill.
Housing- Elite, development and high school athletes will be housed at the University Inn located at 2655 E. Shaw Ave Fresno, CA 93710 Phone: 559-294-0224. The designated team coach from each of the high school teams will also receive housing.
