After two more years of college, one year of pilot training, three months of every kind of survival training and four months of learning how to fly a KC-135 Tanker, I was ready to go and do what I was trained to do... Finally in December of 1975 I was on the Island of Guam getting ready to go to Vietnam. On the day of the deployment the war in Vietnam was declared over. I never went in country. I was part of an "Air Bridge" that refueled airplanes leaving Vietnam for the United States.
