Laton High School Faculty

You will find the years of service are listed in various ways. As an example, the first listing is Doris Abel, 1946 - 1948/49. This indicates that I found her in the 1946 yearbook, however I’m not sure if that was her first year to teach. I don’t have a 1944 or a 1945 yearbook to confirm that she was or wasn’t there before the 1945/46 shool year. In this particular case, there were no yearbooks printed for 1944 and 1945 due to World War II.

Ms. Abel’s last school year of teaching at Laton High is listed as 1948/49 and that information was confirmed because she was in the 1949 yearbook but not in the 1950 yearbook. Are you still with me?

There are also a few question marks where the dates should be. This is because I found information in a book or article at the Fresno County Library but I didn’t have yearbooks to confirm additional years of service. Mostly, you will find those question marks are regarding teachers who were part of Laton High School’s early years and/or there was a scarcity of yearbooks during that period of time.
